Amazon Alexa, commonly known as Alexa, is a virtual assistant technology that uses a Polish speech synthesizer called Ivona, which was acquired by Amazon in 2013. It was first introduced in the Amazon Echo smart speaker and the Echo Dot, Echo Studio, and Amazon Tap speakers developed by Amazon Lab126. Alexa is capable of natural language processing (NLP). She can perform various tasks, such as voice interaction, playing music, creating to-do lists, setting alarms, streaming podcasts and audiobooks, and providing real-time information on weather, traffic, sports, and news.
