Epic Games


Epic Games, Inc. is a software developer and publisher of video games based in Cary, North Carolina, USA. The company was founded by Tim Sweeney in 1991 under the name Potomac Computer Systems and was initially located in Potomac, Maryland, at his parents' house. Following the release of its first commercial video game, ZZT (1991), the company was renamed Epic MegaGames, Inc. in early 1992. Mark Rein was brought on board as its vice president, a position he has held ever since. One thousand nine hundred ninety-nine, the headquarters were moved to Cary, and the studio's name was changed to Epic Games.
