Passkey
A passkey is a form of digital credential that serves as an authentication method for an application or website. It is a type of passwordless authentication recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium and the FIDO Alliance. Passkeys are usually stored by the operating system or web browser and can be synchronized between devices within the same ecosystem via cloud services. However, it is also possible to restrict passkeys to a single device, such as a physical security key.
