Reddit is a social news aggregation, content rating, and discussion website based in the United States. Registered users, commonly called "Redditors," submit links, text posts, images, and videos, which other members vote up or down. Posts are sorted by subject into user-created boards known as "communities" or "subreddits." The submissions with more upvotes are placed towards the top of their subreddit and, if they receive enough upvotes, ultimately on the site's front page. The communities are moderated by Reddit administrators and community-specific moderators who are not Reddit employees. Reddit Inc. operates the website, which is headquartered in San Francisco.
